My husband and I survived the Smurf movie this weekend with the kids... it wasn't easy. They kept singing that song... la la la la la la la la la la la... ok, I liked it. In the 80's, my sister and I collected puffy Smurf stickers ~ we loved those little blue peeps. I know the movie wasn't good, but I thought it was fun. Children, I've noticed, show no discernment 'til they're at least 8, and love everything. God bless 'em. The rest of our weekend involved the usual and then me twisting my ankle during a run on a downhill and falling into the asphalt so hard I am scraped and cut all over... not pretty. I've got a half-marathon in two months so I'm hoping this ankle will heal quickly ~ there's nothing like an injury to bring out my defiant side. I was born the year of the Tiger, I think. ;)
I really enjoyed making that ticker tape linen "abc~123" thing, so I sewed another one Saturday... it was just as enjoyable and came out just as cute...
It's so small I even sewed the binding by hand. I suppose it could be used as a mug rug, it is 6.5" x 8.5", but I think it would be cute as a wall hanging.
It'll be going in the shop ... if I can bear to part with it. xo amy
