Farm Fresh To You delivers a box of locally grown, organic produce to my house a few times a month, and I always greet that box with a little more excitement than my husband can understand. Produce, yeah! Organic, woo! And then there's the element of surprise, because I never know what I'm going to get. This week? Radishes, carrots, Honeydew melon, and kiwiberries... to name a few. Kiwiberries? I'd never heard of those before but they were the first to disappear ~ delicious.
And I don't know about you ~ but when life hands me a lovely bunch of carrots? I sprint like a mad woman for the grater...
... And bake a carrot cake! Drowning in cream cheese frosting, of course. But next time, I'm going to try out this recipe that I found just this morning. (Carrot cake + cheesecake + pineapple is one of the ingredients, mmmhmm.)
The other "delivery" I'm happy to show you is this one:
Remember when I wrote about making those fabric stamps? I kinda couldn't stop making them. Well, I used instructions from Amy Morinaka's book, "Zakka Handmades" to create my version of her "Airmail Mugrug." Mine is a little stamp-happy because I wanted to use as many fave scraps as I could. And I don't want crumbs or spills on it, so this mini quilt will eventually hang on Mia's wall.
I may have to change the mailing label, though. I can't read 'Happytown' without hearing Slappytown echo in my head. Happytown. Slappytown. Happytown. Slappytown. Yikes ~ can you hear it, too?
And if anyone happens to find Mia's other shoe, we'd be thrilled to pieces... it's been missing all week!
