I made lace out of paper today...
... I used my new Martha Stewart paper punch. It's just the thing I needed to make some tiny bundles of twine look pretty for the shop. The truth is that I just love working with paper. I love the elegance of letterpress items, paper tags and pretty scrapbook papers~ but what I have been fascinated with for some time are the intricate paper cuttings I've seen on etsy by Elsita. No matter how many times I look, they never fail to inspire...
Imagine the talent this woman has in her tiny little pinky. You can see the obvious love for her craft along with a ridiculous amount of patience. I wish I had an ounce of that. ha! It's almost laughable (what I'm about to show you), but a while back I made a bib with an orange and I cut the "rind" with an exacto knife. It looks like child's play, but I'm pretty sure I was swearing at one point.
Nevertheless, I hope to become well acquainted with my exacto knife fairly soon. (There is a helpful little tutorial about paper cutting on her blog, right here) Thank you, Elsa Mora.
