Hey there! I snapped a quick pic on my way out the door today...
Sorry, but I have to do it whenever I put in some effort to look good. As you can tell from the rarity of these pics, it's not often. Today I had an interview... and therefore made myself presentable, and therefore had to take a pic. (No kidding, my next-door neighbor didn't even recognize me. Apparently without pajama bottoms and a ponytail I am not me.) Well, I am happy to say it looks like nursing school is in my future... more on that soon. Meanwhile here at the homefront:
A pillow it is! All finished and ready to be shipped to my mom...
I added the detail of a little twill tape and a pearl snap on the back. Fancy. ;)
Other than this, I've been out of the house and all around town... at ballet, soccer, gymnastics and guitar class... with my hexagon bucket in my lap. Hexagon sewing, I've discovered, is a huge conversation starter. Everyone, young and old, wants to know, "whatcha-doin?" Then the younger ones ask, "Can I try?" and the older ones blink their eyes and ask, "How long is that going to take you?"
And I say, "At least a year." I'm starting my very first Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt, so I suspect I'll be sewing hexies for at least that, or more. Check out the awesome inspiration from Molly Flanders: here.
And hey, whatchoo doin?
