I've always loved Valentine's Day ~ all hearts and pinkness and love-ly stuff. Kristyne, of Pretty by Hand, and I thought this was the perfect time to make some more fabric tags and we're hoping you'll Tag-a-Long!
So... these are the "xo Bears." They're simple and easy to stitch up (you could finish them all during baby's nap, shhhh) and I designed them to showcase their sparkly heart balloons. (The sequins were hot glued onto the fabric out of sheer laziness but so far they're staying on ;)
If you'd like to stitch up these little bears yourself, you may download the xo Bears PDF pattern here. It looks like this:
There are 4 bears in the set and they fit perfectly on the tags but you could embroider them onto anything you like. I stitched them with two strands of floss, though I'm thinking one strand might have been better (fyi). To make the heart balloon as I did, cut a heart from a piece of fabric backed with Wonder Under using the pattern heart shape, and iron this onto felt. Cut the felt approximately 1 millimeter from the fabric edge. Lastly, sew the fabric/felt heart onto your tag and attach sequins.
Also, it's definitely worth a moment to take a peek at Kristyne's tag tutorial, which shows how to construct these fabric tags in a way that maintains their crisp shape. I love what you made during the Christmas holiday... now pile on the pink, pile on the sparkle! Then add photos of your tags to the flickr group... I look forward to seeing your love-ly creations!
