Sometimes what you finish...
... is not at all what you started. And it's loved even more because of that.
I was contacted by the friendly folks over at World Book Media, who have come up with the genius idea of translating some of the cutest Japanese zakka patterns into English, woohoo! Yoko Saito in English? Yes, please! And, they've recently opened an etsy shop: Zakka Workshop, selling these patterns.
Actually, my house pillow started off as one of these. But I really needed a cushion ~ and once I'd pieced the house together it screamed, "Cushion! Cushion!" So I did as I was told ;) (That's a first, my husband would say.) Recently I saw Sew Can She's version of the house pattern and I fell deeply in love. It's perfection. So, I'll be making some more houses soon.
But right now I've got a giveaway. A combination giveaway!
My friend, Shay, of Simply Sweet Fabric sent me this sweet bundle of Old New 30's by Lecien ~ that's five darling fat quarters. Of course, I'm going to give it away. It's just perfect for these zakka patterns, in fact, her store is full of fabric perfect for making cute zakka handmades.
Leave a comment on this post telling me which of the Zakka Workshop patterns is your fave (see 'em all here) and I'll send it to you, along with two others, plus the Lecien fat quarter bundle. With these winnings you'll have a head-start on making something adorable this summer!
This giveaway is open to all, comments will close Sunday, July 6th at midnight. Good luck my friends!
