Some days, making soup is the solution for everything...
The act of making it is a labor of love for sure. The steam coming from the stock pot humidifies the air, the broth boosts immunity, and the soup is... well, it's spoonful after spoonful of soothing delicious yum. Go away cold!
Since Christmas I've been feeling under the weather, but the days are rolling forward startlingly fast. I'm so unbelievably encouraged by your sweet words about my book, Sweetly Stitched Handmades. I've already seen projects made from the book and it nearly brings tears to my eyes. It's so cool that you want to make these projects!!! I mean, this is what it's all about for me, really. The sharing, the putting myself out there, the work (and getting so deep into the work that I can no longer tell if it's good or not), and then seeing your response which has been positive and amazing. Thank you. Thank you. And thank you again.
So, despite this cold, I've been having "pinch me ~ it's all too good to be true" type days and I am filled with gratitude. (p.s. all books sold in the second round have been shipped out today!)

A few weeks ago I was testing the cutting instructions for the 'scrappy' version of my Tall Tall trees pattern. It all worked out and I ended with a cute wall hanging for the girls' room.
I also sewed up this doll quilt that went wrong in every way possible...
Starting at the beginning, when I cut out all the wrong size squares ahead of time (when you don't have a lot of fabric, oh that hurts!) Then, I thought I could make it work anyway, but I couldn't. It's fine, of course, just not at all what I had planned.
So, I'll be sewing up one last doll quilt to complete my doll bedding pattern and I know it's gonna be good! Stay tuned...

Now, for the winner of the Milk, Sugar & Flower doll quilt and scrap pack giveaway...
Congratulations, Chen, who wrote, "Love this quilt so much! I'd make a little quilt for my soon to be born great niece with the scraps. Thanks for the giveaway!"
Thank you all for your sweet comments in the giveaway. Pinky promise I'll be done with the doll bedding pattern soon!
