Our little "maker's" world is a sweet one ~ full of women (some men, too!) that encourage, inspire, and show such selfless generosity. Rachel of Wooden Spoon Quilts is one of those women who hits all three nails on the head and basically… I want to copy everything she makes! Her aesthetic is clean and precise, with a lot of soul and such a clever use of color. And because I admire her so much it was hard making a thank you gift without feeling a little bit daunted.
Of course I made a needle book. A while back she had kindly sent over some fabric from New Zealand that we can't get in the US. I used a little in her book. And in wanting to make a super awesome needle book, I kinda went all impromptu… but in the end what I had stitched up was just an oversized needle book (!). I almost couldn't send it because I thought it looked like a gag-gift, but I managed to convince myself that not all people want or need a portable needle book. Some people might like a ridiculously big one. My Instagram friends helped with that ;)
The inside of the book did get some special treatment...
I only wish I'd put some pockets at the front. Next time!
I've been waiting on pins and needles (hee hee, kinda sorta) for Rachel to receive this book and to see if she would laugh at me. It arrived yesterday and I didn't hear any laughing! She likes it!!
