hello! It's been a while I know. A while since I've sewn and blogged. I took a week long "California Adventure" road trip with my family (and it was like the best time ever) but other than that I've been working super hard behind the scenes. Once again I have to be all hush hush about what I'm working on ~ but that's just for now. Yesterday I snuck in some sewing time and used the loveliest pattern to make a top for my littlest 'berry picker'.
Isn't it darling? It's actually called the Isabella Flutter Sleeve top and it's a pattern by my friend Kristine of Townmouse. Lucky for us, Kristine has decided to go through the inventory of patterns she designed for her children's wear line and write them up as PDF patterns for peeps like you and me.
I'd normally balk at the idea of making an actual children's garment from a real pattern. I don't know that I have actually done it before, but everything Kristine touches is amazing, beautiful, and elegant. So I managed to make this top (and I did botch up the back a bit, but I saved it, and maybe next time I really will read all the directions before plunging right in) and I love it! ha ha! I did it!! And I'm going to do it again, because the pattern is written for sizes 1-8. That means flutter sleeve tops for both my girls for the next several years!
Find Kristine's patterns at her Townmouse shop on etsy. And just for a little bit (until the end of July), use the discount code NANA15 to get 15% off your purchase. Go go go!
